Aug 7 - On the way to the Grand Teton National Park

We left early this morning, heading north through Colorado, and into eastern Wyoming.  The landscape was beautiful.  More high plains/prairies, dotted with cattle, wind turbines, and rolling hills.  When we got onto I-80 west in Cheyenne,  the land became more hilly.  We stopped at the visitor center, when we first entered Wyoming.  Very green building, and very interesting historical exhibits about Wyoming.
We started following the Smoky Range Mountains, past Laramie, WY, which follows the Overland Trail, used by the pioneers.  The vistas of the undulating prairies, the mountain range in the distance, and the storm clouds hovering over the mountains were beautiful.  The dark grey storm clouds had fingers reaching down to the mountains, everywhere it was raining.  We stopped at a rest stop with a view of Elk Mountain, and impressive clouds.
Our stop for the night is half way to the Grand Tetons.  It is a KOA in Rawlins, WY.  Just a overnight spot for RV's travelling on I-80.  But, it has full hookup.
