We had a really breathtaking trip through the mountain pass in western Montana, on US I-90. Lots of curves, this way, then that, and most seemed to be downhill, with a 6% grade. With the tree-covered mountains rising up steeply on both sides of the road. On the tippy top of the pass, we arrived into Idaho. Incredible view. Wish I had known there was a pullout to view it, but the speed limit was 60, sometimes 75. I couldn't do more than 55, and Peter following me was terrified. But the view was breathtaking.
Once we got down that hill, and a little further into Idaho, the mountains started looking like hills, and the valley between the mountain ranges got wider. We passed the town of Couer D'Alene, with another huge mountain lake. Beautiful. After that, there was population all the way to Spokane.
Our campground is about 10 miles outside of Spokane. This is the first RPI campground we have been to. RPI is an affiliated group of campgrounds to Thousand Trails, the member group we belong to. We stay at RPI camps for $10/night. Many are located in places Thousand Trails doesn't have sites. It's just OK. After Glacier, though, not much looks good.
We got here, set up, and just hung out. We passed into the Pacific Coast timezone, so we've gained an hour. Made dinner, did the blog, and called it a night.
No photos today.
