Aug 13 - On the way to Glacier National Park, overnight in Ennis, Montana

We said our fond, sad, goodbyes to Robbie and Ann.  We took a much longer route to Ennis, Montana from the Grand Teton National park, as the short route went through Yellowstone National Park and then onto a highway that I was told was difficult for RV's.  So we went south, through Jackson Hole.  It was actually a very beautiful route.  Up, up and over a mountain pass, right outside of Jackson.  Steep grades, curves, 65 mph speed limit.  I needed to slow down, especially downhill.  We went through Western Wyoming, a bit into eastern Idaho, and then north to eastern Montana.
I was amazed at how beautiful eastern Idaho and Montana are.  In Idaho, there were vast fields of golden yellow wheat, with dark green trees, or other crops.  But huge fields.  All in plains bordered by mountains on two sides.  Then eastern Montana changed, and sometimes the mountains were separated by large prairies with cattle, and sometimes the mountains were on either side of the road, in a canyon.  But, the entire trip, from Wyoming to Montana had mountains, canyons, valleys, and prairies.  At least these vast expanses were dotted with ranch houses.  This is more like what I expected to see--pastoral ranch houses, surrounded by trees, in a huge ranch land.  Wonderful!
We got to the medium sized town of Ennis, Montana mid-afternoon.  We stayed for the night at an RV village.  It was the best RV-parking-lot-type location we have ever been in.  It was very clean, nicely landscaped, well maintained.  Modern, clean bathrooms, nice laundry facilities, and a great view of the mountains in the near distance.
I went into the local grocery store, and replenished after the dry camping family outing.  Then, I did the laundry.  The campfires and actual camping is a lot dirtier than our regular RV lifestyle.  After dinner, I was beat.  Watched a few Star Trek Enterprise episodes.
