"Thar be mountains" -- The trip over to the Denver area was fairly easy. Eastern Colorado has a lot of high plains and prairies. Definitely more undulating landscape, more cattle, more secluded farm houses, surrounded by trees. But the most notable was the huge wind turbine farms. They went on for miles in all directions, as far as the eye could see. I noted that in Bovina, CO, they exchanged the bovines for turbines.
We arrived at the Bear Creek Lake State Park campground and set up. The issue we had with our grey tank seemed to be resolved (or dissolved) with the use of the dishwasher soap and the 4 hours of shaking. When we got to the camp, we went first to the dump station and emptied the grey tank, which emptied completely.
This park has the only swimming beach in the whole Golden/Lakewood/Littleton area, so since it was SO hot, the beach was jammed packed. I've never seen so many people at a beach. We said, no thanks. But the view of the mountains is really wonderful.
We drove the short distance over to Gabe's house in Lakewood, CO. Hung out for a while, then went to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. Great seeing the family again.
No photos today.
