We left the Portland area and headed back over to the coast. The drive over went through Tillamock State Forest. This is a mountain pass, covered with pine trees. However, in the 30's, there was a huge forest fire that decimated hundreds of thousands of acres. They ended up replanting the forest, over the years, and the Forest Service now manages it. Quite a feat.
This Thousand Trails RV park is huge, over 300 sites, and is mostly in the woods, on hillsides, right across the street and up the hill from the ocean. It took us a while to get set up, as the water spigot kept spewing water. So we needed maintenance to come and add a back flow extension thingy, which seemed to do the trick. The down side to this park is that there is no internet or cell phone coverage. They had WiFi of sorts, up at their lodge, so we went up there and hung out for a bit. It's sort of neat to be free of social media. We played a game of Rummy and read.
