Sept 8 - Olympic National Park - Lake Crescent & Marymere Falls, Washington

It rained all morning, so we hung out and had lunch.  Met and chatted with some folks with another Class C RV, with a different layout, about the various challenges of owning an RV.  After lunch, we set out for Lake Crescent.
We started on the north east shore.  The road curves and climbs along the large glacier made lake.  Tree lined mountains with beautiful views of the lake.  We ended at the National Park run Log Cabin Resort.  What a nice park.  They have cabins, camping, a small gift shop, restaurant, boat rentals, and beach.  With incredible views of the crystal clear lake, surrounded by tree lined mountains.  The sky had dramatic clouds, which hovered around the mountain tops.  What a neat place for a family vacation!
We then drove over to the Marymere Falls trail, which is a very nice 1.5 mile loop trail through the old growth forest, across a bridge made of one long tree trunk, and up to a delightful 90 foot water falls.
We ended up at the lodge right off of Hwy 101, on the south shore of Lake Crescent.  Big lodge, with rooms and cabins to rent, with an expensive restaurant.  We had a beer, relaxing and looking out at the lake shore.
On the way back to the RV campground, we stopped at the 7 Cedars Casino and restaurant, for dinner.  Peter lost a little money playing blackjack, and I lost a little money playing a slot.  That's enough casino activity for another 10 years.
  A very nice sightseeing day.
