Oct 19 - Babysitting for River, Dallas Arboretum, dinner with William's family

Up bright and early.  When we opened the RV doors, we saw an amazing sunrise.  Intensive reds and oranges.  Nice way to start the day.

We drove the hour in to East Dallas to be there by 9am.  William was working and Cat needed to have a day of Zoom interviews with her students.  She remote teaches at the University of Alabama.  So, we met the challenge of putting River's car seat in to our car, and strapping River in to it.  Then, drove over to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.  What an amazing place.  Located on the White Rock Lake, it is very extensive, and has very elaborate gardens and many varied water features.  We put River in their stroller, with their bag of snacks, and spent several hours walking around the Arboretum.  Since this is near Halloween, they had a huge focus on pumpkins.  I've never seen so many pumpkins and squashes.  River had a lot of fun playing among them.  They also had a nice kid's area and a straw bale maze.

As soon as we got back in the car, River fell asleep.  So we stopped at Walmart and then Whole Foods.  Peter sat in the car with a sleeping River, while I did the shopping.  Back at their house, we played in the yard, until William came home from work.  Had a nice dinner, then drove back to the RV.  Put away the groceries, and figured out our route to Arkansas for the next day.  Then to bed.  Nice, but long day.
