Day 5 - Driving thru VA and NC.

Today we drove through the Virginia countryside.  I even saw some cotton fields, with cotton still on the plants!  It rained or drizzled most of the day, but the driving was OK.  I was really impressed how beautiful the highways were, with tall trees lining each side, and beautiful bushes and plant landscaping on the meridian.  Nice road to drive on.
We stopped in Raleigh, NC for lunch, and to meet with Tom Burns and his wife.  He is a high school buddy of Peter's, and is currently a mystery novel writer.  Nice break.
We stopped in Advance, NC at a Thousand Trails campground.  It is nice--along a river, with a little lake and nice facilities.  Our greatest challenge was in trying to level the RV on the site they gave us.  We couldn't get it level enough to extend the bed, so we had to move sites. Which was fortunate, as the site we got was looking out over the lake, on a concrete pad, so leveling was easy and it is right near the bathrooms.
The rest of the night was quiet.  We were exhausted and went to bed early, being glad we could sleep in.
  No photos today.
