April 4 - On to Advance, NC

We left fairly early in the morning for our short drive (2 hours) over to Advance, NC.  The drive on Hwy 64-E was very pretty.  It was an easy RV drive--few cars, two lanes each way, so anyone can pass me that wants to, a shoulder on the side of the road, no super steep hills or sharp, windy curves.  And, a beautiful day.  We arrived at the Forest Lake Thousand Trails campground.  We actually stayed here on the trip down in January, but it was winter, and we only stayed for 2 days, in a hurry to get to warmer weather.  This time, the camp ground is fuller.
We met up with some folks from Florida, one of whom is in a class C 24 ft RV next to us.  They invited us to join them for some gaming in the Club house in the evening.  One couple, gave us a tour of the campground, on their electric golf cart.  It is really a very large campground, with a lake.
We set up, and had our next challenge.   The screws that hold the metal flange that holds the bed, when folded up, just came out of the wood.  That bed system needs to be redesigned.
I washed the floors, and cleaned up the site--we have never come to site before so littered with trash and cigarette butts.  We had dinner, and walked over to clubhouse.  We ended up playing a dice game, Farkle, with about 8 of us.  We had never played before, and I won, with Peter coming in 2nd.  It was fun.
