Mar 20 -- Covered Bridge, Civil War "museum"

We thought we would be driving into Montgomery, AL today to see the "Lynching Memorial" and talk with the curator, as Peter owns some Civil War related documents that he wanted to talk with them about.  However, when we realized it was a 3 hour drive, we decided to explore around here.
We drove up to Vinemont, AL to see the longest covered bridge in Alabama.  Nice little park, with a working water wheel and some nature trails.  Then we went to the Civil War "museum".  I highlight museum as it was really one man's collection of Civil War memorabilia, and his property was located on the site of a Civil War battle.  Pretty funky, but Peter loved chatting with the owner, who gave us a personal tour of all of the stuff.  His perspective of the reason for the Civil War was States Rights and Taxes, and had nothing to do with Slavery.  Peter decided  not to try to convince him otherwise.  Peter had a great time.
Last night, we came up to the Club House and played a bit of ping pong.  We actually got so we could volley back and forth several times without stopping.  Then we played a couple rounds of pool.  I'm sure Gabe could teach us the basics, which we seemed to have forgotten -- like how to get that ball to go in those little holes, or how do you not have the white ball follow.  But we had fun.
