Nov 6 - Traveling to Paicines, California

100 years ago today, my Mother was born.  Happy birthday, MOM.  Once we got out of the San Francisco area highways, our travels today were fairly easy.  All on basically level ground.  And, guess what we saw?  Palm trees!  Now I know we are in the California I'm familiar with.  There were areas of huge farm lands.  And there were large hills, just covered with golden grasses, and a few scattered trees here and there.  The ground is all dry dirt. Apparently, our current Thousand Trails campground is just 20 miles from Pinnacles National Park.  As we are only here for 2 nights, I think that will be a daytrip for tomorrow.
This campground is large, and it seems to be out in the middle of nowhere.  I saw four deer just munching on the grass here in the park.  And the best sign, see below, is a Pig Crossing sign!  OK.
We set up camp, dealt with a drippy water faucet, had a cup of coffee, walked around the campgrounds, and then relaxed.  Oh yes, and made dinner.
