Nov 2 - Goodbye Yosemite, hello San Francisco, California area.

We left Yosemite, and traveled the first part of the trip going 20 - 30 mph down a very steep set of switchbacks.  The vista would have been amazing, if I had the gumption to take my eyes off the road to look.  This went on for miles and miles.  Fortunately, no one was behind me and Peter, so I felt comfortable going as slow as I did.  Once we got to relatively level ground, the going was OK.
I realized as we approached the San Francisco area, that the need to pay close attention to my driving was just as intense as it was in the mountains.  Watch the swithbacks and steep roads, or watch the 4 lane each way highway traffic going 65 mph, and following the GPS at the same time.
We arrived at the San Francisco RV campground, with is in Pacifica, California, right on the ocean.  Our site looks out over the water, which would be wonderful, if it were not also a very tightly packed parking lot for RV's.  All paved, our site is barely wide enough to put out the extended dinette on one side and open the RV door on the other.  But is has a nice view of the ocean.
After settling in, we decided to drive over to the Pacifica Municipal Fishing Pier, which we can see jutting out into the ocean from our RV site.  We arrived just at sunset, and joined a lot of other folks who were there to watch it.  You hold your breath, just when the sun actually sets.  Magnificent.
It turns out that the opening day for crab season was Nov 2nd, so the entire long pier was packed with people, all with fishing poles, catching Dungeness Crabs.  They have to be a certain size, and not female.  We walked the length of the pier, as the sun further set and changed the sky to pinks.  Then, we stopped for dinner at a local Chinese restaurant.
