July 1 - Westward Ho! On the way to Michigan-2019. Glimmerglass State Park.

July 1 - We started out this morning on our western RV trip.  Our first destination is another Michigan lake vacation, with all of the kids and grandkids, for a full week!  And, having learned from our southeastern RV trip, we decided to take our time and explore and enjoy our journey over to Michigan.  After a week of organizing, grocery shopping, planning, and packing up the RV, we set out.  It feels good to be on the road again.
So, our first stop, after a pleasant 3 1/2 hour drive through upstate New York, is at Glimmerglass State Park.  We decided to do State Parks for this leg of the journey, as our Thousand Trails membership doesn't have many campgrounds in the center of the country.  Also, State Parks are in really nice locations.  They might only have electric hookups, with water available nearby to fill our tanks.  But the setting is usually beautiful, and we are near the clean shower/bath house.
No hookups, other than electric, makes setting up camp really easy.  The spot was mostly level, only requiring one leveling block under each front wheel, and plug in the electric cord.  Voila!
We walked over to the beach, and the to the oldest original covered bridge in the States.  Then, we decided to go back over to the beach and just hang out.  I went swimming, and Peter Blogged.  It was a beautiful afternoon.  Came back to the RV and had dinner.
I am starting back up my daily habit of posting this blog with photos --partly to share our experiences with friends and family, and partly to just remember where we've been and what we've done.  I hope you enjoy it.  Feel free to give me comments and suggestions for improving it.
