July 7 - on to Geneva State Park, Geneva, Ohio

Nice and easy drive (4 hours) over to Geneva State Park in Geneva, Ohio, right on Lake Erie.  After setting up our full hookup campsite (somewhat unusual for a State Park), we walked around the beach and Marina.  What a difference--Lake Ontario yesterday and Lake Erie today!  Yesterday, Lake Ontario was calm and gently lapping the shore.  Today, Lake Erie had super strong winds and crashing waves coming into the shore.  The color was beige way out in the lake, then turned greens and then blues, with whitecaps everywhere.  The sound, the wind, and the waves were breathtaking and invigorating.
We walked, and sat on a log, and walked some more.  Then, came back, had dinner, and our weekly family hangouts call.  Then, went into nearby Geneva-on-the-Lake town for ice cream!  When we returned, it was 8:30pm and was still very light, but it had also cooled off and was less humid.  So we sat outside and read for a bit.  Nice first day here.
