Month of March 2022

Mar 9 - My 75th birthday. Oh my. Tamara and girls came out to Worcester to celebrate. We went to dinner at the Peppercorn Grill. They have a really tasty Quinoa bowl. We then came back to the condo, where they stayed overnight. What fun.

Mar 13 - Anica & family came to visit and late celebrate my birthday. Always a delight to have them visit.

Mar 30 - Trip to Fairview, NJ. We went for a book signing at the library in the town where Peter grew up. An author wrote a fictional novel that took place in the town, with actual names of people who lived there while Peter did, some of whom Peter knew.

On the way there, we drove down the Palisades Parkway, overlooking the Hudson River. We took a side road, closer to the river, and stopped at an interesting park.

We had lunch with the author and a few of Peter's childhood neighborhood friends. Then went to the book signing. I have never been to a book signing and didn't know what to expect. Small library, with probably 40 people attending. The author spoke about writing the book, a friend of his spoke, and then they had Peter do a short talk. Peter had reviewed the book on this blog, and they appreciated his opinions.

We took the long way home, along the CT shore, and stopped at a local Byram Park along the shore, and then further on at Sherwood Island State Park. The State Park is on a little island just off the shore, and has a direct view across the water to the site of the Twin Towers in NY. They had a very nice 911 Memorial on the site. It also had a really long shoreline FILLED with sea shells of all kinds. I have NEVER seen so many sea shells in one place before.

No one wore masks at the book signing, except us, and Peter not all of the time in the Library. A few days after returning home, we both came down with Covid. Thank you New Jersey. Fortunately, we are both vaccinated and boostered, and just had mild symptoms.
