Mar 31 - April 10, Life around home

Spring is definitely in the air, although it seems to come and go a bit.  We took another hike around the lake at the Westville Dam.  About 2 miles, easy, enjoyable hike.  Easter Sunday was very quiet.  But I did see some pics of the kids and their Easter activities.

It is really neat to see the daffodils start to shoot up, and then bloom.  The bright yellow flowers in the otherwise winter drab garden are breathtaking.  And, these daffodils are naturalizing, so they spread.  Nice.

I knitted a premie baby hat, which I had never done.  However, the NICU unit no longer takes hats, for some reason, so now I need to decide what to do with it.  Any suggestions?

I also finished one of the jigsaw puzzles that Lois sent to me.  This one looked like it would be easy, as it had many different areas, with different colors, and lines that you could match up.  However, it turned out there are only 3 different shapes of pieces.  And they actually fit nicely into spaces where they don't go.  So that added to the challenge.  But, it was fun.

I finally got my 2nd Covid vaccination.  The next day I had a low grade fever, and was really low energy.  But by the next morning I was feeling back to normal.  Yeh!

Saturday was a beautiful, sunny, warm day.  We went to Anica's and we all went for a hike on the Great Woods trail.  This trail is near their house, and turned out to be a loop trail through the woods.  And, it was a lot longer than we thought.  It was a really nice trail, with a boardwalk over a swampy area.  Quinn did a great job of leading us around the muddy areas.  Anica ended up carrying Owen for a good portion of it, and by the end Aaron's sore toe was telling him he'd walked enough.  We ended up sitting in their backyard, chatting and enjoying the sun and the day.  What a nice visit.
