May 1 - Heading to Chattanooga, TN

After a month at lovely Lake Lurleen State Park in Tuscaloosa, AL, we are finally leaving and starting our trek home.  Our first stop is in Chattanooga, TN.  Actually, the RV campground is about 1/4 mile into Georgia.  And, in Georgia, this State is starting to open up some restaurants and other businesses again.  I don't feel comfortable releasing our Covid-19 safeguards yet, so we won't be doing that.  The campground is nice, for an RV park.  It feels sort of State Park-like, even with the RV's all in a row.  Since no one is on either side of us, we have a lot of space.
We have arranged our homeward itinerary to only stay 2 nights at a place, generally.  We arrived here, settled in, and did a walk all around the campgrounds.  Gorgeous weather.  It turns out this area was heavy into the Civil War battles.  And our campground was on the spot of one such battle.  There is a Civil War marker for the 84th Indiana Volunteer Infantry, to mark the spot of their occupation.  A couple significant Civil War battle grounds are nearby, and if they weren't in parks that are currently closed, I'm sure we would be visiting them.
So there is one drawback to this location.  From 10:30pm to midnight, there were drag races just across the road, at a drag race track.  Apparently, they are allowed to practice up until midnight.  It sounded like they were right outside our window.  I thought they were kids drag racing down the road, and couldn't understand why the police didn't stop them.  Great.
