May 3 - On to Berea, Kentucky

We left Chattanooga (we even listened to the song sung by the Andrew sisters from the 40's called Chattanooga Choo Choo) and traveled through the Tennessee Smokey Mountain region, north to Borea, Kentucky, just south of Lexington.  The route through Tennessee was really pretty.  Nice clean, tree-lined highway, riding the ridge tops of small tree covered mountain.  Further north in Tennessee we got into the edge of the Smokey Mountain region, and got some glimpses of nice views, all while driving 65 mph.
This area of Kentucky is getting a little flatter.  More tree-line hills.  But there are mountains in the town.  Unfortunately, the parks that have the trails are all closed.  I guess I need to adjust to the reality that we are basically heading home, not sight-seeing along the way.
This RV park is a bit "funkier" than what we have become used to, recently.  Only water and electric, no sewer.  Although there is a dump station nearby.  The issue really is with the grey tank more than the black tank, as that fills up faster.  Oh well, we are only here 2 nights, and we can skip a shower and use paper plates.
We had a delightful Zoom call with the kids.  Today is Aaron's birthday.  It's so nice to be able to spend time together.

  1. Pardon me boy,
Is this the Lair of Great Cthulhu?
    In the city of slime,
Where it is night all the time...
